TV Tropes I like (and ones I avoid)

I've been browsing TV Tropes on many shows, games, movies, anime and other forms of media I'm into, checking out what Tropes applies to them and use them for my own.

Updated: 29/07/2021

Here's an example for the first Danganronpa game for its main tropes. And here's the tropes for its Your Mileage May Vary page though I tend to avoid for works that I'm really passionate about, not wanting it to be defined by certain YMMV Tropes.

The following are my favourite Tropes (both regular and YMMV Tropes - in no particular order):

Incorruptible Pure Pureness - My kind of hero who's able to keep their moral compass, idealism and always do the right thing despite it all.

Complete Monster - Interesting to find out the most heinous villain with no redeeming qualities by the standards of the story.

All Loving Hero - The kind of heroes I like

Moral Event Horizon - Interesting to see how far the character (often the villain) have crossed the line beyond redemption (I've find myself listening to N's Castle from Pokemon Black and White. I guess it sounds like the point of no return)

Silly Rabbit, Cynicism is for losers - Cynical is my least favourite trait so it's nice to see others calling out their cynicism, putting them in their place.

Breakout Character - Seeing which popular character represents that media

Ensemble Dark Horse - When a minor character happens to be popular

The Woobie - The kind of character that we feel sorry for and needs to have a hug (along with its variations including Jerkass WoobieStoic Woobie  and Iron Woobie

HeroicBSOD - Interesting (as hard it maybe) to see the hero going through an emotional breakdown

Villainous Breakdown - Likewise, it's interesting to see the villain breaking down, especially if they deserve it

Getting Crap Past the Radar - It's often amusing to read about a seemingly innocent setting have a hidden inappropriate content

The Reason you suck speech - Especially if the opposing character deserves it

No More Holding Back Speech - Shows how far a character have come from a long way

Knight of Cerebus -  When a more threatening villain takes the setting into a darker turn (in a mostly light hearted setting)

Heroic Spirit - And other related Tropes including Heroic Resolve and Heroic Second Wind

Comically Missing the Point - When the character misses the point with amusing results

What do you mean, it's not for kids? - Interesting to read works that are seemingly for kids when they're not

What do you mean, it's for kids? - Likewise, it's just as interesting to read when works are meant for kids yet it have moments that could suggest otherwise

He can really act - Nice to know on how some actors or actress can act really well, especially for heartwarming, awesome and emotional moments.

Some Anvils Need to Be Dropped   / An Aesop- Inspiring messages that we can learn from various works

Sweeten That Aesop - What we could learn from a work even if it wasn't intended

Gushing About Shows You Like  - In society where we tend to be critical on shows we watch, it's nice to be reminded that there are many people who say nice things about what we're meant to enjoy - like how I've gushed about the gaming series I like here  (characters too)

And the Fandom Rejoiced  - Nice to hear fandoms being hyped about something awesome and the toning of this Trope really emphasis that.

Most Triumphant Example - Picking the best examples for that Trope

Unexpected Character - The character who we least suspect

Honorable Mentions:

Everyone has standards (along with some related Tropes) - Good to see when a character have some standards

Honer Before Reason - If used successfully or at least with good intentions

Some character based Tropes including The AceThe Heart and Determinator

Misblamed - This goes to show that people needs to know facts before making accusations.

Keep Circulating the tapes - One of the Trivia 'Tropes'. I find it interesting to read about a work that is hard to find legally for whatever reason.

Freudian Excuse is no Excuse - As much as I am a nice, forgiving guy, I don't take a blind eye on those who use their tragic past or circumstance to make things difficult for themselves and worst for everyone else.

Darkness Induced Audience Apathy/ Too Bleak, Stopped Caring - Now here's one particular addition that I find myself reading a lot as of late. I guess I find it interesting to read on how some works can be too dark and bleak that turns off the audience, the kind of work that I would often avoid. I always try to make sure that my stories doesn't fall for that Trope with meaningful conflict and idealism even if they get dark at times. It actually inspires me to stay away from drama and meaningless conflict that gets posted on social media and only focus on what's important and meaningful for me and what I can do to deal with certain issues.

However, there are some Tropes that I dislike and prefer to avoid such as theses:

The Scrappy (And related Tropes with exceptions including Rescued from the Scrappy Heap and Alas; Poor Scrappy) - I may have characters I dislike but I don't like the idea of giving characters such Trope and discussing them because of it (with very few exceptions), especially if it's a character I happened to like.

Broken Base - I prefer to stay away from conflict within the fandom (though Base Breaking Character is ok).

Dethroning the Moment of Suck - Like what do we gain from ranting about such moments?

They changed it, now it sucks - I often have issues with fandoms going on a hissy fit about changes. I often find myself being more open or adapting to changes (with some exceptions including Team Rocket during the Unova season and The Magic School Bus Rides Again).

What an Idiot! - I don't find myself approving on ranting about certain character's actions that we have no control over.

Seasonal Rot/Dork Age - I like to enjoy a season of a show/time period of other media as it is and not keen on dissing the said season (especially if I happen to enjoy it or fine with it otherwise)

Accentuate The Negative - If you're just going to point out all the negatives for shows you watch, then what's the point?

And any Tropes that suggests discrimination including homophobia.

Pokemon that everyone likes but I'm not a huge fan of/Pokemon that nobody seems to like but I happen to like

As you may have seen from my previous blog post that have the link to the spreadsheet that shows what do I think of each (fully evolved) Pokemon, you would notice that some of my taste in Pokemon may either match or differ from the majority of the fans including yours.

Over the years of Pokemon, I've noticed some Pokemon that fans happened to be a huge fan of.  Whilst I do agree with a lot of them, there are times when I'm find that I'm in a minority and find that I'm not into them as much as other fans. Guess I'm a hipster but here are some of the Pokemon that a lot of people really like yet I'm not a huge fan of them (note that I am not bashing these Pokemon or anyone who happens to be a huge fan of them. I don't dislike these Pokemon and find them alright, they just happen to not to have the same appeal to me comparing to most other fans).

Top Five Pokemon that everyone likes but I'm not a huge fan of them:

5) Lapras

I do get that many people remembered surfing with Lapras, being designed for it yet I would argue that there are other Pokemon that you can also use surf with. Her design is alright but I prefer most other Water types including Milotic, Greninja, Starmie and for obvious reasons, Vaporeon. Status wise, I am aware that they were good back in the days of Gen One but would now considered unspectacular by today's standards (as with most Gen One Pokemon) with me preferring again most other Water types for battling over Lapras.

4)  Suicune

I've never really quite get the hype for Suicune comparing to some other Legendary Pokemon. I was more surprised that Suicune was the version mascot for Pokemon Crystal which I admit that it's the only main series game that I've never got round playing. I guess it's something to do with his popularity which eclipsed me. I suppose he does have an elegant design which I do respect that it would be the main appeal yet Suicune has never quite been my top Legendary Pokemon and I'm more of a Raikou guy when it comes to the Legendary Beasts. He does excels his roles as a bulky water type but I still personally prefer Vaporeon or Milotic over him (both of which have better recovery moves) as well as most other Water types design wise.

3) Braxien

Braxien has always been baffling to me popularity wise. When she was revealed as one of the playable characters for Pokken, I was surprised as I would have expected Greninja as the more likely Kalos representation. I guess it's rare for a second stage evolution Pokemon to become popular (excluding Pikachu and Jigglypuff who did not have a pre-evolution during their debut). I guess with her resembling a witch and the one owned by Serena in the Anime is what contributed to her appeal but I personally always prefer her evolved form Delphox along with the aforementioned Greninja over her.

2) Marowak

Now don't get me wrong here, I do understand the tragic backstory involving Cubone and Mother Marowak which made Cubone a Woobie Pokemon. I give Game Freak some credit to give some Pokemon some story relevance back in the day. I guess it wasn't enough for me to become a huge fan of Marowak comparing to cuter Pokemon like Pikachu or unusual looking Pokemon like Exeggutor. He may look badass though I prefer other badass Pokemon including his Alolan Form. Competitive battling wise, Marowak's stats are unspectacular at best barring Thick Cub (and Trick Room but even then I have other stronger Pokemon for Trick Room). In all fairness, Pokemon Origins and Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee have made their backstory more engaging but not enough for me to catch up with Marowak's popularity.

1) Charizard

I know a lot of fanboys are going to get me for this but hear me out, Charizard is cool in his own right, I just never been a huge fan of Charizard and prefer other fully evolved Starter Pokemon including Blaziken, Greninja and Decidueye over him (as well as other Gen 1 Pokemon as mentioned above) which to me are more cooler and in most cases, better for competitive battling. Speaking of which, I am aware that he's not the best in competitive battling with his poor typing that makes him exposed to common weakness and Stealth Rocks (and status which are alright but nothing special at best). If it makes up for some of you, I do like both of his Mega Evolutions which are more cooler and arguably makes Charizard more usable. But yeah, I happened to be one of the few who never have been into Charizard as much as most other fans.

Honorable Mentions: Pachirisu

Pachirisu is an odd case here. Usually reguarded as a forgettable Pikachu clone but there is one in a Pokemon World Tournament battle used by Se Jun Park and used it to support his team and won using a Follow Me set that he came up with. That alone have sky rocketed Pachirisu's popularity. You could say that it what makes Pachirisu great and I do appreciate that it have helped Se Jun Park to win though I'm realistic to be aware that it's mainly due to the Pokemon that were allowed to be used in the tournament at the time and would probably be less effective by today's standards. Outside of that, Pachirisu still have poor status and far from a top tier Pokemon. Whilst again, I acknowledge that it what have lead Se Jun Park to victory, it's not enough for me to get into Pachirisu myself.

Pidgey/Rattata

You may remember them (and their evolved forms) as your first Pokemon caught (and Twitch plays Pokemon) which is nice and all but I'm not the kind who sugarcoats on nostalgia. For the Pidgey line, I've always preferred Talonflame, Staraptor, Toucannon, Swellow and to a lesser extent Noctowl as well as the other Normal/Flying type Dodrio (many of which are better in competitive battling, especially the first two) whereas I'm more into Linoone, Diggersby and Furret over the Rattata evolution line. Again, I do get that people have memories of them as their first Pokemon on their team. I guess I don't have as much memory with them as I caught other Pokemon and picked them over them (many of which are admittedly stronger). I don't have anything against them as I do use Mega Pidgeot (which I was lukewarm at first as I wasn't a huge fan of Pidgeot) and Alolan Raticate (not my favourite Alolan form but he does have some usage) at least.

On the flip side, I noticed that I have a lot of Pokemon that I really like yet I don't hear many other fans liking them as much (which are either obscure, mediocre in competitive battling or at worst, forgettable to them). So here are Pokemon that I happen to like a lot that only a few other fans seems to like (note that some maybe merged together if they belong to the same evolution group):

Top five Pokemon that nobody seems to like but I happen to like a lot

5) Heatmor

When it comes to Heatmor and Durant, Durant tends to be the better choice for battling and possibly the more popular one (but not as much a Scizor). Yet I've always been into Heatmor more. Guess it's because he's an Anteater Pokemon and Anteater have been one of my favourite animal because they happened to be unusual (and I cannot contain my excitement every time I see one in Zoos like Chester Zoo including Bliss). I guess whenever Game Freak makes a Pokemon based on my favourite animal, I usually can not help but to like it a lot. He may not be a great Pokemon comparing to most other Fire types with his mediocre stats but he's still an Anteater which are awesome.

4) Purugly

When Serebii Net first revealed Purugly's English name, I couldn't help but to become amused by the name. That combined with her ugly looks is what gives me the appeal. Of course, I know that Purugly is not a great Pokemon to use in competitive battling with her mediocre stats barring speed and movepool but least she's better than the other Normal cats Persian and Delcatty. She does have a small niche in Poorly Used and the unofficial Zero Used tiers (at this time of writing) respectively with Defiant against Defogger users. The epsiode where Meowth falls in love with a Glameow that became Purugly was hilarious. Reguardless, Purugly have one of the best Pokemon names hands down.

3) Huntail and Gorebyss

I'm always fascinated by deep sea fish which what makes me interested in the Clamperl evolution duo Huntail and Gorebyss yet no one else seems to be into them as much comparing to other Water types. Competitive battling wise, they often considered mediocre and outcasted. They do have Shell Smash but are usually shoved aside by other Shell Smashes. To be far, they do have a niche with having access to Baton Pass which allows them to pass the Shell Smash boosts to their recipient before Baton Pass got banned (though I still use Baton Pass myself). Regardless of the competition and ban, they both need more love as unusual Water types who can be underrated threats with Shell Smash.

2) Tropius

Generation Three had some unusual Pokemon and Tropius is among one of them. I remembered discovering it on Route 119 in Pokemon Ruby and can't get over his unusual design. To this day, Tropius have become my top Grass type Pokemon yet he have mostly mediocre stats for competitive battling. I did however have some success using one as a Chlorophyll sweeper including the Weakness Cup for Pokemon Moon. Even if he's far from a great choice, he'll always have my appeal as a banana dinosaur whose design is creative and clever for Game Freak as mentioned by some of the judges for Smogon's Judge a Pokemon here.

1) The Hitmons

The Eeveelutions and Hitmons are all part of a branch evolution family which what makes me into them. Unlike the Eeveelutions (and some other Fighting types), The Himons have never been as popular as them. With them being based on real life martial arts techniques (and for the first two cases, named after famous martial artists), what's not to like? Competitive wise, Hitmonlee fares decently with the ability to hit hard in mid and lower tiers, Hitmonchan have slowy gained popularity in PU after being oucasted and Hitmontop was considered the best Hitmon (including for some VGC tournaments) with his Rapid Spin set but his usage have been plummeted within the years. This trio have the potential to have a lot of character with their diversity and needs more love.

Honorable Mentions:

Phione

Phione is infamous for being a Manaphy clone with worst stats and movepool and is often disliked for it yet I find Phione alright. Phione is just as cute as Manaphy and I've enjoyed its Anime episode which also makes it look cute (well, maybe falling in love with a Pokemon sounds absurd but just because Phione's genderless it doens't mean that Phione can feel love and I think it means that Phione's gender is unknown). I do get that Phione being a ripped off Manaphy makes Phione forgettable but I can't find myself disliking it for that reason. I may not be a huge Phione fan but I say that it doesn't deserve the hate it gets.

Lunatone and Solrock

Lunatone and Solrock are among the many Pokemon who are mediocre in competitive battling but I happen to like a lot. However, I've heard that they have a niche popularity with fans speculating that they would receive special treatment for Pokemon Sun and Moon which would disqualify them from this list. I do agree that it would make sense for them to have such treatment for Sun and Moon like Mega Evolutions for them.

Sword of Justice

The Sword of Justice are my personal favourite legendary groups ever since I've watched Kyurem Vs The Sword of Justice with all of them talking in telepathy giving them character with Keldeo having the main focus. I've liked that as it gives them all character. They are generally popular in competitive battling in their respective tiers though I don't see them being as popular with other fans comparing to most other legendaries including Mewtwo, Mew, Suicune or Genesect (and to an extent, the movie itself comparing to most other Pokemon movie though I have seen a favourable review here and Keldeo's voice Vic Mignogna is apparently popular with fans). Reguardless, they'll always be among my top legendaries along with the likes of Genesect and the Tapus.

So I guess this goes to show that some reception among Pokemon can differ among fans whenever they are highly popular or are niche picks. It's always interesting to know one's taste in Pokemon which makes the world beautiful.

What do I think of each Pokemon?

What to know what I think of each Pokemon? Below is the link to the spreadsheet I've made where I've ranked (fully evolved) Pokemon with a tier rating (and a few comments), based on what I think of them personally and my personal experience using them:

Having a good year or a bad year - Should it really matter?

So we are nearly coming to the end of 2018. You'll probably find a lot of people asking what do you think of 2018? Your answers would either be your best year, your worst year or just ok.

As for me, I had a couple of highlights to be blessed with along with a couple of lows. But there was one day when I was thinking about the highs and lows that have happened so far during 2018 along with things to look forward to that are bound to the highlights of 2018 and I suddenly thought to myself "Why I am worrying about having a good year or a bad year?"

That was when it comes clear to me on what I should be really be doing; I should take everything as it is, whenever it's good or bad. It all comes and goes yet we learn and experience anything each and every time; making the most of anything that makes me happy and letting go on on the hard times.

So for now on, I'll be taking the year as it is, just by rejoicing whatever I'm blessed with to remind myself to be grateful in life and work on the difficulties that I happened to be experiencing until it worked out for the better.

I admit, I guess that part of this mindset comes from when there was a particular year 2016 when I constantly saw people posting on social media saying that year is the worst with its doom and gloom, much to my chagrin. Don't get me wrong, I do understand and sympathize on how some people have it bad here and there (with me trying my best to help them out) along with the difficulties that have happened that year involving stuff like politics and equality but I guess that I happened to focus on the good that have happened to me during 2016 including Pokemon Sun and Moon, Busted tour and Night Driver album, meet up with my internet friends,  Miitomo and Pokemon Go and it doesn't makes it easier for me to see people saying otherwise when I'm trying to have a good year. Guess with me being autistic, I receive a lot of vibe from negativity. Again, I get that there's no turning a bind eye to what's happening in the world but I say that we should only be informed by them without letting them define that year along with our perspective in life. I guess all of this reminded me to focus on what I'm blessed with. Too often, we get cynical when bad things happen.

But hear me out, I've too been through some rough moments throughout the years. I have to cope with rowdy classrooms at High School, my Guinea Pig Romeo have to be put to sleep, have to put up with rowdy college students, having to go through all the drama from the toxic Mcfly fanbase (especially involving McBusted) and so fourth. But now I have gone through all of this, I am arguably in a much better position in life, trying my best to have a more positive mindset and outlook in life. Of course, I am still going through some difficulties in life but I wouldn't be who I am today if I didn't experienced all of this, growing a lot. I'm trying to be the better person then I have been.

But there is only one thing that allows us on how we define a year; ourselves. Whatever we're going through rough periods in life or facing anything unfavorable in life, we have to deal with them with resilience, take action, allow ourselves to be surrounded by those who provide you positivity and love who will do a lot for you to get through life and focus on getting your life back together. And whenever we're happened to be blessed with something or having the time of your life, we have to make the most of it, using these moments to remind you the good in life, smile that it happened and never take them for granted.

Either way, we learn from both experience. Life isn't always easy but it's good to take the year as it is whenever we're thankful in life, need to let things go, face whatever coming in our way with resilience, being there for others whenever they're at their lowest, very best or cheering them on whenever they have accomplished and something and moving forward with our hopes and dreams.

That said, there are a lot of stuff I'm looking forward to for 2019 including Danny Jones' solo album, Busted's Half Way there tour, Book 3 for Fire Emblem Heroes and the next generation of Pokemon, reminding myself on what is there to look forward to.

Of course, I'll be taking the year as it is whenever I'm making the most of whatever I happened to rejoice and work on whatever difficulty I'm facing. That way, I can live and focus for the moment in the period of my lifetime without worrying on having a good year or a bad year as it's merely a number of days in my lifetime.

Regardless, hope you all have a good year with best wishes for the new year. Be your true self, be humble, be grateful, be happy, be resilient, be kind, be passionate, be awesome.

My Top Video Game Series

I'm a huge fan of videos over the years and got to know many of them whenever I'm playing alone, with my friends or family or watching my brother. There are some that I'm good at including strategy based games like Pokemon or those that I can never quite get used to the game mechanics or just mediocre including Mario Kart and Marvel Vs Capcom but reguardless, I don't need to be good at them as long as I enjoy playing in any way as said by Satotu Iwata "Above all, video games are meant to be just one thing: fun. Fun for everyone". So here are the video games that happens to be my personal picks:

1. Pokemon

Pokemon has always been my main source of gaming from Red to Ultra Moon; catching and raising my Pokemon for my battles to be the very best like no one ever was. I have been shown to become a strong Pokemon Trainer with help from the metagame site Smogon which have given me ideas on the best way to use my Pokemon while still enjoying Pokemon. Also been enjoying watching the Anime and its movies and playing a few side Pokemon games including Battle Revolution (unpopular opinion but I say it's a pretty good game), Pokemon Go and Detective Pikachu.

2. Fire Emblem Heroes

One of the mobile games I've played owned by Nintendo. I've played Fire Emblem Heroes after my friends have played it and got hooked on it since. It helped me to get into the series itself with Fates being my first Fire Emblem game as brought from a friend of mine for my Birthday. I've been going on Fire Emblem Heroes a lot to raise my units (including my Reinhardt going "Magic is everything!") and to take part in seasonal events.

3. Super Smash Bros

The Nintendo crossover fighting game that have helped me to get to know many Nintendo franchises including The Legend of Zelda, Metroid and Star Fox. I've been playing the series with my friends and have lots of fun and laughs and I'm hyped to play Ultimate which at this time of writing will be released tomorrow.

4. TomoDachi Life

I've been a fan of creating Miis and this was the game that makes best use of them, adding my friends, family, celebrities and fictional characters onto one island and raising them, often with amusing results. I've been making some musical performances with them using the Music Hall which you can check out here.

5. Miitomo

Miitomo was the first mobile game which helped to open my mind on mobile gaming. Even if Miitomo have been long since shut down, it was great to answer a wide variety of questions, interact with others based on their answers, create some amusing Miifotos and earn some outfits for your Miis.

6. Miitopia

The other game that makes use of Miis, Miitopia allows me to assemble my friends, celebrities, family and fictional characters in an RPG style game with again amusing results. It surprisingly have a really good soundtrack.

7. Mario Kart

Mario Kart was the first game that I played Wi-Fi with my friends. It's always great to have some dumb fun on Mario Kart each time.

8. Project X Zone

A crossover with franchises from Capcom, Namco and Sega (also in Project X Zone 2; Nintendo with Xenoblade Chronicles and Fire Emblem), many of which were obscure to me including Devil May Cry, God Eater, Hack, Resonance of Fates, Sakura Wars and Darkstalkers. I'm hoping to try them out someday (which I have done so for one of them which I'll cover soon).

9. Marvel Vs Capcom

The other crossover fighting game that have helped me to get to know characters from Marvel and Capcom (and Tatsunoko for Tatsunoko Vs Capcom - earning its honorable mention), getting myself hooked on their interactions with each other during their conversations (and in Infinite's case, the story mode) while teaming up the likes of Spiderman and Dante.

10. Ace Attorney

Objection! Ace Attorney is an intriguing visual novel series where you have to claim your defendants innocent as Phoenix Wright as his team. The series contains many cases that gets you hooked each time along with many humorous and emotional moments.

11. Danganronpa

As I've been playing Ace Attorney, this friend of mine who has also been playing Ace Attorney have given me Danganronpa which is also a visual novel which have students being forced to play a killing game. The series have a wide variety of cast that gets me rooting for them including Makoto, Kyoko, Nagito, Gundam, Kokichi and Gonta.

12. God Eater

After gaining an interest from Project X Zone and with the updated remakes released in the west, I thought it'll be my best chance to try God Eater. It's an action series where you have to fight against hostile Aragami monsters for the sake of humanity's future. Along the way, I've found myself getting close to the cast and enjoying the soundtrack throughout.

13. Animal Crossing

Animal Crossing is a relaxing Sims like series where you get close to your animal neighbours, take part in seasonal events and collect fish, bugs and furniture which gets you hooked on. I've been on its community forum where I became very close to my online friends which I'm still close too so I can thank Animal Crossing for that. I've also been enjoying the side series including Pocket Camp, Amiibo Festival (again unpopular opinion but I've actually enjoyed it) and Happy Home.

14. Wario Ware

Warioware contains a series of wacky mircogames where you have to complete them within seconds before moving onto the next one shortly afterwards which gets addictive yet fun.

15. Rhythm Paradise/Heaven

From the same makers as Warioware, it focus on playing the games within the beat of the rhythm. It can be complicated at times but it still enjoyable to play with its soundtrack. Oh, the above image is my photoshop image of one of the most famous rhythm game Ringside with my crush Danny Jones from Mcfly.

16. The Unholy War

An obscure Playstation game from my childhood where you have to choose two nations; The Arcanes or the Tecknos in this strategy based fighting game to fight for their home planet Xsarra, determining the outcome for the Unholy War. I still have memories of it and managed to re-experience it on an emulated version.

17. The Magic School Bus

Also from my childhood, the PC series have helped me to learn a lot about science while having fun. Due to these games, I remember a lot of facts including the planets from the solar system and the different kinds of rock and minerals. I've also been watching the original TV series which makes learning fun.

18. Mother 3

After using Lucas for Super Smash Bros Brawl a lot, I've gained an interest playing the fan translation version of Mother 3 with it being unreleased in the West. It have a series of RPG style battles with an interesting soundtrack, followed by its emotional story. Also been playing Earthbond (aka Mother 2) on the Wii U.

19 . Awesomenauts

This indie game was introduced by a friend of mine. I may have never got into the competitive side of it but I do enjoy some practise matches every now and then, using wacky Awesomenauts. It also have some awesome character themes and some of the best voice lines including Froggy G's "Don't hate the game, hate the player!" and Leon Chameleon "Homicide du Fromage" which is based on my favourite Cartoon Network show Dexter's Laboratory.

20. Mario and Sonic series/Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games

Ah yes, I couldn't afford to miss out a mention of two iconic gaming series; Super Mario and Sonic The Hedgehog. They have a wide variety of games that makes them equally iconic including New Super Mario Bros, Super Paper Mario and Super Mario Odyssey for Super Mario and Sonic CD, Sonic Generations and Sonic Forces for Sonic The Hedgehog. They have also set their rivalry asides and compete together for the Mario and Sonic at the Olympic game series, making those two franchises forever timeless and here to stay.

21. To the Moon/Finding Paradise

Both visual novels were made by Kan Gao with To the Moon originally given from a friend of mine, they have their own unique story line with humorous yet bittersweet moments which I can't go into further detail as you have to find out yourself. They both also have a great theme song performed by Laura Shingihara.

22. Jackbox

The Jackbox series have a collection of games that are fun to play with friends and family, each with their unique style including Quiplash, Fibbage, Drawful, Tee Ko, Survive the internet, Fakin it, Earwax, Split the room and Patently Stupid. I can still remember some of the answers we come up with which can be exploited though it's probably better to leave it as that.

23. Dream Daddy

As a member of the LGBTQ community, it's great to have an LGBTQ dating sim visual novel where you play as a Dad, meeting other Daddys you can date. A great LGBTQ reprentation game which Dads dealing with complex issues that you may relate to, bringing you closer to them with along with your ingame daughter Amanda.

24.  Undertale

I first got the know this game from Dan and Phil's gaming channel. Watching their playthrough makes me want to try it out myself. I can happily say that I've stick with the true pacifist path as I've got close to the wacky cast while enjoying the soundtrack. May this fill you with determination.

25.  Golf with your friends

Even if you're not good at golf, it's a great game to have some dumb fun with your friends (though I'm shown to be good at times).

Honorable Mentions:

Ducktales Remastered - Have the best soundtrack for gaming
Soul Calibur - A series of sword fighting with some of them having the option to create your own fighters
Altered Beast - I admit that I can never get past the second level but playing as a guy who gets buff is my kind of thing...who can also transform into animals
My Virtual Gay Boyfriend - A mobile game where I can custom my virtual gay boyfriend
Wii Fit/Wii Sports - I have fond memories playing them with my friends and family while getting fit
